As I was perusing pinterest I came upon a 12 layer cake. Holy cow that looked amazing! So I went to the dollar store and bought 12 reusable cake tins. And I made 12 flat cakes, the frosting, assembled it... And it looked beautiful. And it tasted like a crepe cake, which was not what I was looking for. So I will try again. Because Thomas loves European type cakes with lots of layers.
