Busy Little Bees

Here is a post that I started months ago and never really finished.
My dad came up and we went up to Lynden WA for his Aunt Sis' funeral. This was a beautiful picture of Mt Baker during that time.

Mean while Thomas is still going strong on wearing a tie Monday through Thursday. Naturally Friday is jean day and really, you cannot pass up that opportunity to wear jeans to work.

And finally I ventured out and made a pair of baby shoes. :) So stinking cute, minus the adventure of making 1 shoe with 4 pieces of cloth, instead of 2 shoes with 2 pieces of cloth each. I will claim it as a crafting adventure rather then a blonde moment.

I also made wonderful breakfast sticky buns. I saw this blog another time and needless to say, Thomas and I have had these great sticky buns numerous times.

That is it for this random post that I never finished months ago. (I think March to be exact)

Summer Adventures

So much has happened in the last month and a half since I last wrote about Calia’s Cottage.

1.     Thomas had a birthday and turned 31.
2.     Went to an outdoor theatre with our friend Monica to watch Fiddler on the Roof.
3.     Lots of people graduated (Candice, Allison, Kali, Courtney, and Rebecca) and we went to many grad parties!
4.     My Dad came to visit for a long weekend.
5.     My sister Alyssa and Nate along with our little nephew Malachi have come to stay with us.
6.     We went camping at Salmon la Sac with our friends Sarah and Craig.
7.     We went to work for a few days and went back at it camping again with our community group the next weekend to Penrose Point State Park.
8.     Mean while in the middle of everything I crammed in my final crafts and on Sunday Jul 15th I had my first craft fair adventure at Art on the Ave.

That was an awesome time of sharing a booth with Amy and marking off a bucket list item! Considering Amy just brought her son home from the hospital not even 48 hours before, I was truly amazed that she stuck around the entire day. But we did it! And now it is time to craft a little bit more because in 2 weeks we have our second and final fair for the summer. Proctor Art Fest is guaranteed to be very artsy fartsy!

All in all it has been a beautiful busy summer.

Sometimes so busy I think about writing and can’t because something else has to be done.
And then I want to add pictures and don’t have the time, so the blog gets pushed back again.
And again… But here it is! Sans pictures.

Introducing... Calia's Cottage

My latest time thief of mine has been starting my own little business or as my mom said, Mica’s sweat shop. I have been ruminating about some day selling my crafts and last summer in talking with my friend Dana about my quilts, she suggested that I sell some in her consignment store. A few things postponed my immediate desire to do that including school, making many other friend’s baby quilts, and then of course the holidays.

So here I am. It’s now May. And I did it! Calia’s Cottage has been created (I will tell you the story behind the name another day). I finally made a backlog of quilts and dropped them off at Blooming Kids. After talking to Dana and getting more ideas I promptly went home to make more baby stuff. So there are now taggies and binky clips to match the quilts that are at her store.

For all you non local’s, I also started an Etsy shop, which is where I also sell my crafts online! You can see my shop when you look at the top of this page at the tab called Calia’s Cottage – My Etsy Shop. There I am selling all the items I make. Since all my quilts are at Blooming Kids at the moment and I am still working on the next one, I only have binky clips, taggies, carseat canopy’s, minky blankets, and burp cloths available at the moment.

I also created a facebook page where you can see what items are at Dana’s shop Blooming Kids, what items are on Etsy, pictures of all the items I make, and the quilt patterns I can make. That is also a tab at the top of this page called Calia’s Cottage – Facebook page . If you see something on there that you like, but it is not currently on my etsy shop, or you want a different color you can contact me at Caliascottage@gmail.com and we can work something out! The final tab is simply my pinterest boards where you can see what I like J

To top it all off, a friend of mine who started her own little shop eeBee Ones, is going to be sharing a booth with me this summer at Art on the Ave on July 14th and 15th and Proctor Arts Fest on August 4th! I will definitely remind all you locals to come visit us here in Tacoma

Now that I have linked you to everything you could possibly see about Calia’s Cottage, I am off to make more baby stuff.
